Report: Tottenham rebuffed for Belotti | Football Italia

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly offered to take Andrea Belotti on loan with option to buy for total of €50m, but Torino rejected it.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the bid was turned down because the Granata will only let their hitman go for a permanent move.

If it was a loan with obligation to buy, then it may well be considered.

  The 26-year-old Italy international has

a release clause in his contract worth €100m that is only valid for clubs outside of Italy and a deal that runs to June 2022.

Il Gallo has played 192 competitive games for Toro, scoring 92 goals and providing 19 assists.

He also has nine goals in 28 senior Italy caps and is challenging European Golden Shoe winner Ciro Immobile for the starting spot at Euro 2020.

Tottenham are seeking a striker and keep looking to Serie A, having also approached Napoli for Arkadiusz Milik.

Spezia request Zoet from PSV | Football Italia

Spezia are in negotiations for PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet, according to Sky Sport Italia.

  The club

just earned promotion to Serie A for the first time in their history, winning the play-offs against Frosinone.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Spezia are now in talks with PSV Eindhoven to sign Zoet.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper was sent out to FC Utrecht on loan in January, but with the lockdown and early end to the Eredivisie season, he managed only 10 appearances.

His contract with PSV only runs to June 2021, so Zoet should be available for a minimal fee.

He has been at PSV since 2009 and picked up 11 senior caps for the Netherlands.

Atletico Madrid might be open to swap midfielder Thomas Partey with Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi.

Tuttosport claims the 27-year-old has been identified as the perfect profile for the Old Lady midfield, as a return for Manchester United star Paul

Pogba will only be possible if the Bianconeri part with Paulo Dybala.

The newspaper reports Juventus are crunching the numbers to find a way to bring the Ghana international to the Allianz Stadium and have discovered a possible swap-deal including Bernardeschi.

The former Fiorentina winger reportedly impressed Diego Simeone during their meeting in the Champions League in 2018-19 and the Old Lady could offer the 26-year-old in a similar deal struck with Barcelona to swap Miralem Pjanic with Arthur Melo earlier this summer.

Juventus are working to push down the €50m asking price by including Bernardeschi in the deal and the latest reports suggest the Atleti coach could be interested in swapping the two players.

Castro needs ‘perfect strategy’ against Inter | Football Italia

Shakhtar Donetsk coach Luis Castro looks forward to the ‘most important match’ in his career and hopes to ‘stop Inter and Romelu Lukaku with the perfect strategy’.

The Ukrainians prepare for the semi-final against Inter in the Europa League, and former FC Porto coach Castro admitted it will be his biggest task as a coach.

“Even if I played a quarter-final in the Europa League with Porto, against Sevilla in 2014, I will say that this is the most important match of my career,” Castro told Marca.

The Portuguese 58-year-old praised the Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte ahead of tonight’s big game.

“He has always had very well built and balanced teams, both in attack and defence,” Castro added. “That’s what’s happening at Inter right now. They have returned looking well after the pandemic.”

Despite being labelled as underdogs, Castro believes Shakhtar have a chance to win a place in the Final.

“The game is played on the pitch, not at the bookies. Football is a business,” he said. “But for us, it’s not like that, because for us the only thing that matters are us and the opponents.

“If others think Inter are the favourites, that’s OK, then they are the favourites. But we never feel inferior to anyone.

“We played 11 games in Europe this season, between the Champions League and the Europa League, and we only lost

two games, against [Manchester] City and Atalanta.

“Both games were at home. Away, we haven’t lost yet.”

Romelu Lukaku has scored in nine consecutive games and Castro aims to stop the Belgium international and Inter with the ‘perfect strategy’.

“We have to adopt the perfect strategy to stop him and that’s a task for the whole team, not just a single player.

“We must stop Inter and that includes stopping Lukaku.”
