Inter midfielder Borja Valero has reportedly convinced coach Antonio Conte, who is prepared to offer him a new deal at San Siro.
The former Fiorentina man has stepped up after the lockdown and has been praised by Conte for his contribution in the absence of key members in midfield.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims the coach wants to have the Spanish playmaker available in 2020-21 and the offer of a new deal should arrive shortly for Borja Valero.
The 35-year-old has appeared 19 times in Serie A this term and has contributed two goals.
Gian Piero Gasperini has officially been given a touchline ban, so will miss Atalanta’s big match against Milan on Friday.
The coach was sent off during an ill-tempered 1-0 win over Bologna, in which he argued loudly with Sinisa Mihajlovic, but only Gasperini was dismissed.
According to the official report, he was dismissed for a second yellow card, having “vehemently protested” the first booking for dissent.
Gasperini isn’t the only one sitting out Friday’s clash, because Milan also have Ismael Bennacer and Theo Hernandez suspended after their accumulation of cards against Sassuolo.
Juventus are reportedly ready for a total revamp this summer, putting the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Federico Bernardeschi, Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi and Daniele Rugani on the market.
According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri have already decided they will slice and dice the squad, having already sold Miralem Pjanic to Barcelona in exchange for Arthur Melo and €10m.
The objective is to find players who suit coach Maurizio Sarri’s vision, but also bring down the average age of the side.
According to Tuttosport, the list of players on their way out includes Higuain, Khedira, Matuidi, Rugani, Mattia De Sciglio and Bernardeschi.
Others owned by Juventus and currently out on loan, such as Luca Pellegrini at Cagliari and Cristian Romero at Genoa, will be sold or used as part of exchange deals.
However, the Turin-based newspaper also points out this won’t be that easy, as the high salaries they earn at Juve make any negotiations tricky.
